Chicago Bears: A Spring of Promise and Progress

The Chicago Bears have been making significant strides in their off-season activities. Special teams coordinator Richard Hightower was honored to participate in the NFL’s Coach Accelerator program at the Spring League Meeting in Minneapolis. In academic achievements, Bears quarterback Justin Fields and tight end Cole Kmet, who left college early for the NFL, have both graduated from Ohio State and Notre Dame respectively.

Justin Fields made a generous donation of $10,000 to the Special Olympics during a special appearance at Dunkin's 20th Annual Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser in Northbrook. On the field, Justin Fields is excited to return for a second year in coordinator Luke Getsy’s system, expressing that his familiarity with the offense feels 'truly amazing'.

The Bears made significant enhancement to the team after only getting 3 wins last year and the hope is to take it the next step forward. New additions, receiver DJ Moore and linebacker Tremaine Edmunds have already made an impact in the OTA practice. The Bears signed fourth-round draft pick Roschon Johnson, a running back from Texas, to a four-year contract.

The Bears are by no means a Super Bowl contender, but if Fields can continue to build on the success he had at the end of last season then there is definitely hope with the new additions that they could be looking at a wild card spot.
