Giants Face an Uphill Battle With Brutal 2025 Schedule

East Rutherford’s own have been dealt a bad hand; however, the New York Giants will enter 2025 as an undeniably better team than they left 2024. Quarterback Russell Wilson is the key improvement—at least on offense—where the Giants will return 10 starters. Armed with additional defensive upgrades and competence under center, New York should improve in 2025. However, the Giants face the challenge of having the hardest strength of schedule in the entire NFL.

New York will struggle particularly at home, where the NFL has decided to load them up with tough opponents. The Giants will face the following teams at MetLife Stadium: the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 3, Los Angeles Chargers in Week 4, Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6, San Francisco 49ers in Week 9, Green Bay Packers in Week 11, Washington Commanders in Week 14, Minnesota Vikings in Week 16, and Dallas Cowboys in Week 18. All of these teams are capable of making the playoffs this year, with Philadelphia and Kansas City having reached the Super Bowl just a season ago. It’s safe to say New York will have their hands full at home with opponents largely favored to win heading into the year.

While the G-Men have improved significantly from a year ago, things remain quite uncertain regarding how competitive they can be with the top teams in the league. Pair some of the best out-of-division teams with an already extremely competitive division, and it creates the perfect recipe for a team to struggle yet again after finishing 3–14. Due to this tough setup ahead, things could get really uncomfortable if the G-Men aren’t able to be competitive in most of these games. Head coach Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen have received support from ownership for an additional year at the helm; that said, they could be under heavy fire if things start to go south early on.
