Dallas Cowboys: Building Foundations and Overcoming Challenges in the 2023 Offseason

The Dallas Cowboys returned to the field for OTAs this week, with new and returning faces coming together for the first time. The team is also managing injuries, with Tony Pollard and Terence Steele returning to the field in a limited capacity for the first time since each suffered a season-ending injury in 2022.

Quarterback Dak Prescott is no stranger to changes in the offensive coordinator position. However, he and Brian Schottenheimer are already building a strong foundation for the upcoming season. Prescott's leadership and Schottenheimer's strategic acumen are expected to be key drivers of the Cowboys' success in 2023.

Dallas hopes that this is the year that they can finally get over the hump and make a deep playoff run. After losing 19-12 in the divisional round last year the Cowboys made a series of shakeups to help rejuvenate this roster. They franchise tagged running back Tony Pollard making him the official running back 1 after releasing Ezekiel Elliot. The Cowboys also added wide receiver Brandin Cooks to complement Ceedee Lamb on the other side of the field.

The Cowboys are building foundations and overcoming challenges in the 2023 off-season. With key players returning from injury and a strong partnership forming between Prescott and Schottenheimer, the Cowboys are setting the stage for a promising 2023 season.
