Week 3: Vikings Win 28-24

It wasn’t the prettiest game, but the Vikings somehow were able to comeback twice against the Lions in order to get back in the win column. It seemed like the Vikings, early on, could not get anything going on offense. The Lions were making quick work on the Vikings’ defense, going up 14-0 early on. However, the Vikings were able to get the run game going and opened up for the play action game. After two touchdown drives they were able to tie it up.

After the half, though, the Vikings came out flat once again. Trailing 24-14 midway through the 4th quarter, they got another touchdown. After a Lions missed field goal, Kirk was able to lead a big touchdown drive to KJ Osborn to give the Vikings a 4 point lead. The Lions had no time to work with and Jared Goff threw a deep ball that was picked off by Josh Metullus to close out the game. The win definitely wasn’t pretty, but the Vikings got the job done against a division rival which was huge.
