Three Must-Start Players in Fantasy for Week 8 of the NFL Season

As we dive into Week 8 of the NFL fantasy season, it's time to spotlight my top must-start players who are poised to make a significant impact. Whether you're looking to solidify your lineup or make a bold move, these players are sure to elevate your game and bring you one step closer to another victory!

  1. Austin Ekeler – Running Back, Washington Commanders

Ekeler is off to a great start to his 2024 season, and things should trend upward this week against a Giants team that has struggled to contain the run. New York has excelled at getting after the passer and leads the league in sacks, but outside of Dexter Lawrence, they have struggled against the run, allowing an average of 141 rushing yards per game. Washington will be without Brian Robinson, who’s dealing with an injury, and the veteran Ekeler will step in to fill his place. His ability to catch passes out of the backfield perfectly complements the ground game that Washington loves to utilize. As Washington’s offense has continued to improve week to week, I expect this team to take full advantage of a weak rushing defense by leaning heavily on Ekeler and QB Jayden Daniels in the run game.

  1. Bijan Robinson – Running Back, Atlanta Falcons

Robinson is undoubtedly one of the most talented backs in the NFL. His fantasy production has been a bit up and down this season, but over the past three weeks, things have really ramped up. He’s posted over 20 fantasy points in three straight games, and this week he faces an extremely vulnerable Cowboys defense. Dallas allows the second-most rushing yards per game at 155, and Atlanta is more than equipped to exploit that weakness. Robinson should be a guaranteed must-play this week, as I expect him to have yet another big game.

  1. Brock Bowers – Tight End, Las Vegas Raiders

Bowers has been one of the most promising rookies to emerge from this year’s class. The young tight end is ranked second among all tight ends in PPR leagues and should be a must-start this week against Cincinnati. The Bengals allow the eighth-most receptions to tight ends, averaging about six per game, and they allow an average of 57 receiving yards. Vegas’s passing game revolves largely around Bowers and the impact he makes across the middle of the field. I expect the rookie to have a massive day against Cincinnati in what could possibly be the best game of his career.
