Saints Extend Kamara for Two More Seasons

The New Orleans Saints have secured running back Alvin Kamara with a two-year, $24.5 million contract extension, keeping him with the team through the 2026 season. The Saints announced the extension on Tuesday evening, following Kamara's voiced concerns over his contract situation during training camp, though he ultimately chose not to hold out. Drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft after a stellar college career at Tennessee, Kamara quickly established himself, winning AP Offensive Rookie of the Year.

Kamara is celebrated for his versatility, surpassing 1,000 scrimmage yards in each of his seven seasons. He holds franchise records in total touchdowns (85), rushing touchdowns (60), scrimmage yards (10,738), and all-purpose yards (11,396), solidifying his essential role in the Saints' offense.

This season, Kamara has rushed 111 times for 438 yards and six touchdowns, averaging 3.9 yards per carry. His contributions as a receiver are equally impressive, with 34 catches on 43 targets for 252 yards, emphasizing his dual-threat impact. As the season progresses, the Saints' offense will continue to rely on Kamara’s leadership and skill to drive their game forward.
