Jets Grant Reddick the Opportunity to Seek a Trade
Numerous people within the Jets organization had high hopes that experienced pass rusher Haason Reddick would make a significant impact after being traded from Philadelphia. Unfortunately, the relationship between Reddick and the team soured before he could take the field, largely due to contract disagreements. The Jets have now granted Reddick permission to seek a trade.
It's been reported that Reddick wouldn't mind a potential return to Philadelphia. He has missed the entire season, including training camp, due to the contract dispute, but I believe he still has a lot to offer. Reddick has been a crucial part of the Eagles' recent success, posting 27 sacks and 95 quarterback pressures over the past two seasons, establishing himself as one of the best pass rushers in the league. It's unfortunate that the Jets' defense could have benefited from his talent, but the situation now seems beyond repair.
The Detroit Lions are reportedly interested in acquiring Reddick from the Jets. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Lions have "looked into" his situation. This comes as the Lions look to strengthen their pass rush after Aidan Hutchinson's season-ending injury. As the NFL trade deadline approaches, it will be interesting to see if the Lions push further and how the Jets respond to inquiries regarding one of their top defensive players.
