OBJ Nearing Return, Could Play Sunday Vs Patriots

A name that may have flown under the radar this offseason amidst all the big-time transactions is none other than former All-Pro receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Now 31 years old, Beckham may be past his prime, but he remains an effective player, as he demonstrated last year with the Ravens. In six starts, Beckham recorded 565 yards and three touchdowns—a strong performance for a player who missed the previous year due to a torn ACL suffered during the Super Bowl.

This offseason, Beckham signed a one-year, $3 million deal with the Miami Dolphins. However, it was soon revealed that Beckham had been dealing with a nagging injury that has kept him sidelined at the start of the season. Beckham, determined to prove he still has the skills that made him a star, expressed his motivation to return and make an impact. According to Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel, fans may finally see Beckham back on the field this week in a Dolphins uniform.

McDaniel cautioned that if Beckham does play on Sunday, it will likely be in a limited role to ease him back into action. Still, having Beckham's presence in the locker room, especially with the team facing early struggles, could be a much-needed morale boost. Miami is hopeful that Beckham will help bolster an already potent wide receiver corps, joining Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle as they work to support newly signed quarterback Tyler Huntley.

The Dolphins face a tough test this week against one of the NFL's top defenses in the New England Patriots. It’s an uncertain scenario for Beckham's return, and while the team may choose to hold him out for another week, they might also use his abilities—limited or not—to give themselves the best chance to win. Regardless of when he returns, seeing Beckham healthy again is great for the league, and his comeback could add extra excitement to what may be his final season.

Miami heads to New England for a divisional showdown this Sunday at 1:00 PM, in what promises to be a hard-fought matchup.
