Vikings Messy Off-season Starts
After a 13 win season the Vikings are back to the drawing board. With a lot of veterans and well over the salary cap, changes have started and more are coming.
The big first move was releasing linebacker Eric Kendricks, who was a Vikings linebacker for the last 8 seasons. That move has helped the Vikings get to just $16 million over the cap. However, more news has come out today suggesting that Adam Thielen could end up being released by the Vikings. He believes that he can still be a big part of the offense, but with his age it will be very tough to pay him that $20 million cap hit he’s due. The two sides will meet but a decision could be made as early as Friday.
Also today Za’Drius Smith, the Vikings edge rusher, asked the team to release him. The Vikings denied the request but things could definitely end up getting messy there. It will be interesting to see what happens as Smith already sold his house in Minnesota.
There are a lot of questions about what the Vikings will do and these next few days are going to be very interesting.
