Vikings Release Adam Thielen and Cameron Dantzler

A couple big moves were made today by the Minnesota Vikings organization. They released their long-time and home-grown wide receiver Adam Thielen. It is truly sad to see a player like him go, but it seems as if both sides were ready to part ways.

Thielen will leave the Vikings organization with third most receiving yards over 6000 and the third most touchdowns with 55. He was a real game changer and helped the Vikings to a couple playoff appearances.

This Vikings organization, though, want to get younger and faster players. Hopefully Adam Thielen as a great remainder of his career wherever he goes next.

The other news of note was the release of cornerback Cameron Dantzler. He was a third round pick back in 2020 and struggled to stay on the field. With this move the Vikings save over $2 million in cap space and are now very thin at the cornerback position.

There is also a rumor that safety Harrison Smith is on the verge of being released. This front office isn’t playing around and it will be very interesting to see what happens over these next few days.
