Hill & Dolphins Reach Restructure Agreement
Notorious speedster and Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill has reached a much-desired contract restructure with the Miami Dolphins. The three-year deal is worth $90 million, with $65 million guaranteed. Hill had previously stated he wanted a restructure to align his guaranteed money with the top WRs in the league. While the new deal doesn’t add any years, it does give him what he wanted, with a total of $106.5 million in guaranteed money, the most ever for a WR. Since joining the Dolphins via trade in 2022 and signing a new contract that, at the time, made him the highest-paid WR in the NFL, the price tag for the position has only increased. His new extension now creates a massive jump in guaranteed money worth nearly $30 million.
A move of this magnitude is surely going to cost the Dolphins a sizable amount of cap space. However, when it comes to players of this caliber, it is almost always worth it to reward their tremendous production. Hill has been outstanding during his time in Miami, putting up the best production of his career. Over the past two seasons, Hill has amassed over 1,700 yards in both years, along with 20 total receiving TDs. Hill has been recognized by the league and his peers for his efforts, having been voted an All-Pro the past two years. Additionally, his peers voted him the number one player in the NFL via the NFL’s Top 100 list. Both honors are more than warranted, as he is easily one of the most dynamic players not only in the league now but of all time. His unique speed and route-running ability make him nearly unguardable in all facets and have made QB Tua Tagovailoa’s job infinitely easier. With the two of them now comfortably under contract for the next few seasons, the focus can shift toward chasing a Lombardi Trophy and bringing a long-awaited title to the city of Miami.
