Dallas & WR Lamb Close on Extension

America’s Team seems to be on the move with wide receiver CeeDee Lamb as the two sides are nearing a contract agreement. After a dramatic few months involving trade threats and holdout allegations, it's great to see progress being made on the contract front. It’s been reported that the two sides are ironing out details, but the skeleton of the extension seems to be in place. The framework of the contract is a four-year deal worth around $140 million. A deal of that magnitude puts the total value of the extension in line with what Vikings WR Justin Jefferson received a few months back. When looking at the annual average value of the deal, Lamb may even surpass Jefferson as the highest-paid WR in the entire NFL.

With a price tag that steep, Lamb is expected to produce at a very high level, as he has become accustomed to doing. His rapport with Dak Prescott has been elite since he came into the league, and with Dallas’s receiving corps being thinner than in recent times, the pressure is on. I have no doubts that Lamb will produce at a high level once this season kicks off due to his immense talent. Exquisite body control paired with sure hands and smooth route running make CeeDee one of the league's most dangerous threats. While nothing is set in stone yet, a contract extension is coming, and when it does, I will be here to break it down.
