Vikings Win a Close One Again...
Another Sunday of football and yet another close win for the Vikings that came down to the final seconds.
The game started off great, with an interception from Harrison Smith and a 20-6 lead at the half. The defense was forcing turnovers, turnover on downs, and punts. While it wasn't pretty, the offense put together some quality drives and forced the clock to run.
The second half, however, was a completely different story. The Jets started moving the ball up and down the field. The only good part of all that action was that the Vikings forced the Jets to accept field goals. The Vikings had a 20-15 lead.
The Vikings offense decided to move the ball and a touchdown pass to Jefferson gave the a Vikings 27-15 lead. Then a couple of big plays for the Jets forced a 4th and goal and a Mike White running touchdown.
The offense got the ball but stalled yet again and the Jets had a chance at another game winning drive. They got the ball quickly down to the Vikings 4-yard line. However, the Vikings red zone defense continued to be successful and they forced a 4th and goal from the 1. Berrios ended up getting open for the Jets, but a last second drop gave the Vikings the ball back. However, after 3 runs the Jets got one last chance. They ended up getting the ball at the Vikings 15 but an interception to Cam Bynum helped seal victory number 10.
This team makes no Sunday easy, but they keep winning these close games and that’s something they weren't good at last year or in 2020. We’ll call that progress and take the win.
