Keys to a Vikings Win on Thanksgiving

On Sunday the Minnesota Vikings were more than humbled. A 40-3 loss is the second worse home loss in Vikings' history and an embarrassment. Thankfully, the Vikings have a chance to bounce back quickly against the Patriots.

Here are some keys to a win this Thursday:

  1. Feed Dalvin Cook. The Vikings' injuries on the offensive line were so obvious and the play calling, too, did not help at all. The Vikings need to get Cook the ball as he still averaged 6.5 yards a carry in the game against Dallas.
  2. Design quicker passes. The drop backs were simply not working and Kevin needs to do a better job of designing quicker passing plays. Judon, on the Patriots line, is the best edger in all of the NFL and to help the o-line design quicker passes will be helpful.
  3. Blitz more on defense. The Vikings have stuck with the same zone coverage with only rushing four people and our defense is so dependent on those 4 getting pressure. However, last Sunday they didn’t get a single sack and gave up almost 500 yards on offense. Ed really needs to adjust his defense against a very below average offense. Make Mac Jones feel uncomfortable and we should have a great chance.
  4. Play aggressive. Simply put, the Vikings didn’t show up on Sunday and it showed. An emotional hangover from the game against the Bills lead to them walking into this game thinking they can win. However, this team isn’t very talented and much more of a workhorse team and they need to show that against a scrappy New England team on Thanksgiving.
  5. Skol Vikings
