Week 6: Keys to Victory

Tomorrow the Vikings will be taking on the Dolphins in South Beach as they look to improve their record to 5-1. Here are some keys if the Vikings want to head into their bye week with a victory:
- Contain the speed of the Dolphins receivers. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle are quickly becoming a top wr duo in this league and are very capable of making big plays. This isn’t really a good match up for the Vikings, as guys like Patrick Peterson, Harrison Smith, and Cam Dantzler rely more on their ball skills than actually speed. It will be important to contain the big plays and make the rookie quarterback be forced to take his check downs.
- Get pressure on the rookie quarterback. This will be Skylar Thompson’s first start of his young career and the best way to make him feel comfortable is getting pressure and keeping him on his feet. The Vikings haven’t gotten a lot of pressure to the qb this year and that has got to change. With all that talent upfront it will be important to make sure they have a breakout game and get a couple of sacks.
- Offense continuing to improve. With a couple weeks of the new offense under their belt the Vikings have been seeming to get better each week since the Philly game. It will be important to see the offense continue to get more consistent as they face better defenses and the Dolphins will be a good test.
